Glasgow headlines 4 January: One person dead following incident on railway line

One person has died following an incident which disrupted a number of Glasgow train services on the morning of 4 January.

Earlier, British Transport Police reported an emergency incident between Johnstone and Kilwinning stations which effected services from Glasgow Central to Ayr, Ardrossan Harbour and Largs.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene and police do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances.

Next, a Glasgow hospital unit is using children’s ideas to help transform the space to make it more comfortable for patients.

The Royal Hospital for Children is aiming to make their pre-theatre space more soft play for those staying there, brining a unique collaboration between former patients and creatives.

And in other news, Wunderbar, which has proved popular in Glasgow City Centre, is to open a second location in the West End.

The cocktail bar and beer hall opened on Buchanan Street in 2022, while the team behind the endeavour revealed in a social media post that they’d be opening the latest venue in 2024.
