One of the more memorable New Year's Eve celebrations of 2023/24 took place in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates. The fireworks there achieved not one, but two Guinness World Records. The event, unfolding along 4.5 kilometres of shoreline from Al Marjan Island to Al Hamra Village, featured a mesmerising showcase lasting 8 minutes, involving over 1,000 drones and a stunning "carpet" of aquatic pyrotechnics. This extraordinary spectacle set records for the "Longest straight-line drone display" and the "Longest chain of aquatic floating fireworks." It took place in front of 40,000 people - marking the Emirate’s emergence as an increasingly popular tourist destination.
