Jorma Kaukonen Hot Tuna homage Tim Gracyk guitar "Hesitation Blues" Sally Where'd Ya Get Your Liquor

  • hace 5 meses
I perform a medley of two Hot Tuna's numbers, starting with "Hesitation Blues" (also ending with it).

I add "Sally, Where'd Ya Get Your Liquor From?" in the middle.

It's not as good as the real thing, but I like to show my reverence for the great Jorma Kaukonen, whose shows I attended often in San Francisco when I was in high school.

I attended Jorma shows mainly in 1977 and in 1978. This was right after Hot Tuna called it quits for a time. Jorma was embarking on his solo career. He appeared often at the Old Waldorf in a business section (I mean the Embarcadero District) of San Francisco.

No more Fillmore West concerts, no more Winterland--the Jefferson Airplane days were over. The music scene was changing rapidly. Both Jack and Jorma went "punked" for a bit.

Anyway, I was there in the crowd at the Old Waldorf when Jorma first appeared as a solo artist. I tried to learn from him, sitting close to the stage, watching what he was doing on the fret
