NHS Managing Director Sir Stephen Powis says NHS staff are “working incredibly hard to get patients through the system so that waiting lists reduce” as pressure builds on the emergency services.

00:26 see the winter flu wave in the next month and of course industrial action has been called
00:32 by junior doctors. So it is a very tough environment but we are committed to doing everything that
00:37 we can to keep that downward pressure on waiting lists.
