Max Holloway was too strong for Jose Aldo for the second time this year, reducing the Brazilian to a bloody pulp as he defended his featherweight title with a 12th straight win.

After the violent KOs that preceded their fight, the pair started in relatively tame fashion as they felt each other out.
Aldo clearly had a plan to pepper Holloway with leg kicks but Holloway picked up the pace towards the end of the second round, landing a flurry of punches.
The American taunted a tired-looking Aldo at the start of the third as both men let their hands go in a violent slugfest. Holloway struck with a nice combination followed by an overhand right midway through the round as he quickly gained the ascendancy.
