New South Wales paramedics have accepted a record pay deal after months of tense negotiations. More than 5-thousand paramedics will now receive a pay rise of between 11 per cent and 29 per cent over the next four years. The Health Services Union had knocked back an offer of a 19-point-six per cent increase last week. Union members had threatened to let their registrations lapse making them ineligible for work from New Year’s Day.
