00:00 Taylor Swift is calling out Kim Kardashian over that infamous phone call.
00:06 The 33-year-old singer is named Times Person of the Year and in an accompanying interview,
00:12 Taylor doesn't hold back when it comes to the reality star slamming Kim's alleged editing of
00:19 a leaked 2016 phone call between Taylor and Kim's ex Kanye West. Fans will remember the beef between
00:27 Taylor and Kanye over his song "Famous," which featured a lyric about Taylor. In the track,
00:34 Kanye rapped, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that b---- famous."
00:40 At the time, Kim posted footage of a phone call between Taylor and Kanye to Snapchat,
00:46 which seemed to show Taylor approving the lyrics, which she says she never did. A full release of
00:52 the phone conversation in 2020 appeared to show that the footage had been edited down.
00:57 Now, Taylor is getting candid about the toll the scandal took on her, telling Time,
01:02 "You have a fully manufactured frame job in an illegally recorded phone call,
01:07 which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar.
01:11 That took me down psychologically to a place I've never been before."
01:16 The cruel summer songstress says, "I moved to a foreign country.
01:20 I didn't leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away
01:25 most people in my life because I didn't trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard."
01:33 Adding, "Make no mistake, my career was taken away from me."
01:37 E! News has reached out to reps for Kim in response to Taylor's interview,
01:41 but has not yet heard back. In 2020, when the full phone conversation was leaked,
01:46 Kim addressed the drama in a message on X, formerly Twitter, writing, "Taylor Swift has
01:51 chosen to reignite an old exchange that at this point in time feels very self-serving,
01:57 given the suffering millions of real victims are facing right now."
02:02 Of course, fans know that the public feud inspired the Grammy winner's "Reputation" era,
02:07 one of the last remaining albums Taylor has to re-record. And the singer knows Swifties are ready
02:13 for it. In the Time interview, when referencing the upcoming "Vault" tracks from Taylor's version
02:18 of "Reputation," the pop star simply teases them as "fire."
02:23 "So, you know, I'm just gonna say it's a good thing that Taylor Swift has chosen to reignite an old exchange that at this point in time feels very self-serving, given the suffering millions of real victims are facing right now."
