Aldo Ubaudi's Fatal Crash @ Rally Città di Torino 2017

6-year-old spectator Aldo Ubaudi who was spectating with his family the Rally Città di Torino, near the small village of Coassolo Torinese, province of Turin, Italy, was hit and killed by a competing car that went off the road during a special stage.

The accident occurred around 11h45 on Saturday, 27 May 2017. The Škoda Fabia S2000 #12, reg. plate number 1BKK538, driven by Cristian Milano-Luca Pieri went out of control and crashed shortly after the start of the 7.5-kilometer third special stage "Coassolo". The car hit a curb and struck the family, standing in an unprotected area.

The emergency crews reached the place of accident in a matter of seconds and the rally doctor Graziano Madoglio tried in vain for almost an hour to revive the young boy, who was killed almost instantly. Aldo Ubaudi's father, Giacomino Ubaudi, 45-year-old contractor from Coassolo Torinese, and his wife Valeria, née Pellino Roci, were taken by helicopter to Ciriè hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Their younger son Luca, aged 3, was miraculously unscathed. The driver Cristian Milano from Forno Canavese, province of Turin, sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident, his co-driver Luca Pieri of Biella, escaped injury.

After the tragedy, the special stage was immediately stopped and the remainder of the day's rally events were canceled.
