YouTuber Faces Prison For Lying to Feds About Fake Plane Crash to Garner Views
  • 5 months ago
YouTube creator Trevor Daniel Jacob was sentenced to 6 months in federal prison for intentionally crashing a small plane in November 2021 for social media clicks and views. Jacob had equipped the plane with multiple cameras and live-streamed the crash on YouTube under the title "I Crashed My Airplane." Some viewers were suspicious as Jacob was wearing a parachute and made no attempt to safely land the plane. Jacob lied to investigators about the location of the wreckage and dismantled and disposed of it to obstruct the federal investigation.
