Disney has faced a boycott as Disney+ has thousands of users canceling their subscriptions after Elon Musk cursed out CEO Bob Iger. Musk had told the Disney head to “go f—k yourself,” after the company halted advertising on X this week.

The statements were made in response to a growing controversy involving Musk. Subsequently, Disney joined a plethora of companies that paused advertising on the platform formerly known as Twitter. Now, Disney+ is facing a large exodus amid a budding boycott.

Over the last several weeks, the Tesla and X owner, Elon Musk, has been embroiled in a controversy due to posts made on his platform. Indeed, a bevy of platforms have announced their intention to cease advertising on the social media network. Now, one of the biggest of those brands is facing pushback.
Specifically, Disney is facing a boycott after Elon Musk cursed out its CEO, Bob Iger. Musk had been outspoken in his answer to several of the companies exiting the platform. Speaking to the New York Times Andrew Ross Sorkin, the SpaceX CEO issued a poignant, “go f–k yourself,” to advertisers

Yet, Musk had made mention of Iger specifically in that diatribe against the blackmail efforts. “Hey Bob [Iger], if you are in the audience. That’s how I feel, don’t advertise,” he stated. Susbeuqwnelty, Musk stated that users “already are,” boycotting Disney services.

The advertisers in question are global brands like Paramount, Apple, IBM, and of course, Disney. However, thousands of users have taken to X to verify the ongoing boycott. “Canceled” is currently trending on the platform, with thousands confirming their abandoning of Disney.
