So Far Away (Carole King Acapella Cover)

I feel like it’s been forever since I posted anything music related! I’ve been wanting to get back to it for awhile but sometimes I didn’t feel like it, so I wouldn’t. I’ve recorded a few other covers but I just haven’t gotten around to getting the videos together to post them, so I’ll be working on those in due time. I love Carole King so much, and this song got stuck in my head when I watched a video of her performing this song with James Taylor from 1971. Since then, it kinda stayed in the back of my mind but recently I found myself putting this song on repeat, and then I really just wanted to do a cover of it and add some harmonies in. Now granted it’s not exactly what I had in mind at first because we were driving home from Chicago and I couldn’t get my original idea out and record, but I still really like how it came out! I actually have two favorite parts in this song, normally I have one and that’s what I’ll cover, but I just couldn’t resist doing the whole thing! Both of my favorite parts are where I added the harmonies, I just felt like it needed some there and I love how it sounds! Carole King actually wrote quite a few tunes for the Monkees in the 60s, and she’s very talented in her own right! The first solo song of hers I heard was Bitter with the Sweet and I instantly liked her. I’ve been wanting to switch things up a little bit and throw in some other artists other than the Beach Boys, and I honestly just missed doing this because it’s so much fun for me to make these, so more’s on the way!
