Rain, snow and severe storms are expected to disrupt Thanksgiving travel plans across parts of the United States this week in the central, northeast and mid-Atlantic regions. The Northeast and mid-Atlantic could face wind and rain that causes delays at major airports in New York, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia later in the week. Snow is forecast for the New England region on Wednesday. The Transportation Security Administration expects this year's Thanksgiving travel period to be the busiest ever, screening over 2.6 million passengers on Tuesday and over 2.9 million passengers on Sunday, the predicted peak travel day. Airport security is preparing for high volumes.
