छठ पर्व की शुरुआत 17 नवंबर से हो चुकी है और 20 नवंबर को उगते हुए सूर्य को अर्घ्य देने के बाद छठ पूजा संपन्न हो जाएगा. उगते हुए सूर्य को तो अन्य दिनों में भी अर्घ्य दिया जाता है, लेकिन छठ एकमात्र ऐसा पर्व है, जिसमें डूबते हुए सूर्य को भी अर्घ्य देने की परंपरा है. यह इस बात का संदेश देता है कि, अस्त के बाद उदय जरूर होता है. वहीं इसके पीछे एक मान्यता यह भी है, जिसके अनुसार सूर्य जब अस्त होते हैं तो वह अपनी दूसरी पत्नी प्रत्यूषा (सूर्य की अंतिम किरण) के साथ रहते हैं, जिन्हें अर्घ्य देने से मनोवांछित फल मिलता है. कार्तिक शुक्ल की षष्ठी तिथि को अस्ताचलगामी सूर्य को अर्घ्य दिया जाता है, जोकि इस साल 19 नवंबर 2023 को है. वीडियो में देखें छठ पूजा के चौथे दिन क्या कहलाता है ?
