Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 144 (Arabic Recitation): “ قَدۡ نَرَىٰ تَقَلُّبَ وَجۡهِكَ فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِۖ فَلَنُوَلِّيَنَّكَ قِبۡلَةٗ تَرۡضَىٰهَاۚ فَوَلِّ وَجۡهَكَ شَطۡرَ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِۚ وَحَيۡثُ مَا كُنتُمۡ فَوَلُّواْ وُجُوهَكُمۡ شَطۡرَهُۥۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ لَيَعۡلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمۡۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا يَعۡمَلُونَ ”
Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 144 (English Translation): “ We have certainly seen the turning of your face, [O Muḥammad], toward the heaven, and We will surely turn you to a qiblah with which you will be pleased. So turn your face [i.e., yourself] toward al-Masjid al-Ḥarām. And wherever you [believers] are, turn your faces [i.e., yourselves] toward it [in prayer]. Indeed, those who have been given the Scripture [i.e., the Jews and the Christians] well know that it is the truth from their Lord. And Allāh is not unaware of what they do. ”
Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayat 144 (Urdu Translation): “ ہم آپ کے چہرے کو بار بار آسمان کی طرف اٹھتے ہوئے دیکھ رہے ہیں، اب ہم آپ کو اس قبلہ کی جانب متوجہ کریں گے جس سے آپ خوش ہوجائیں، آپ اپنا منھ مسجد حرام کی طرف پھیر لیں اور آپ جہاں کہیں ہوں اپنا منھ اسی طرف پھیرا کریں۔ اہل کتاب کو اس بات کے اللہ کی طرف سے برحق ہونے کا قطعی علم ہے اور اللہ تعالیٰ ان اعمال سے غافل نہیں جو یہ کرتے ہیں۔ ”
The English translation by Saheeh International and the Urdu translation by Maulana Mohammad Junagarhi, both published by the renowned King Fahd Glorious Qur'an Printing Complex (KFGQPC). Surah Al-Baqarah is the second chapter of the Quran.
