NT government trying to secure exemption for federal road deal that would see 50/50 funding split

The Northern Territory government is working to secure a deal with the Commonwealth to be exempt from a national road funding shake-up which could see it pay millions of dollars more per year for infrastructure projects. The NT has long counted on the federal government to contribute 80 per cent to infrastructure costs, but the change could see half of all funding come out of the Territory's wallet.
