2022 Beta 200 RR Race Edition Dyno Test
How much power does Beta’s special-edition 190cc two-stroke off-road motorcycle make? We ran it on our in-house dyno to find out. Here are the results.

Beta has quite an extensive lineup of motorcycles. For dirt bikes, the Italian manufacturer focuses mostly on the off-road and dual sport segments, but has begun dabbling in motocross with its 300 RX. When it comes to trials, Beta offers six Evo models, four Evo Factory machines, a pair of Evo 80s, and others that are minis or full-size rock hoppers which are uniquely equipped.

With so many models to choose from, we’ve been fortunate enough to test several of the street-legal dirt bikes and standard two-stroke off-roaders in the past. This year, Beta dropped off its 200 RR Race Edition, which is unique not only because of its 190cc displacement, but also its upgrades over the standard 200 RR—one of the most notable being a KYB AOS (Air-Oil Separate) 48mm closed-cartridge coil-spring fork.

Back to the engine: Beta is currently one of only two manufacturers to produce a 200 dirt bike model, the other being Spanish company Rieju with its MR Ranger 200, MR Racing 200, and MR Pro 200. We hadn’t run a bike of this displacement on our in-house dyno, so needless to say, we were curious to see what it could do.

With a Dunlop D404 street tire mounted on its rear wheel, the 200 RR Race Edition pumped out 31.0 hp at 8,900 rpm and 18.9 lb.-ft. of torque at 7,700 rpm. Those numbers are comparable to the 2022 Husqvarna TE 150i’s figures. Perhaps a comparison test is in order?
