हर वर्ष कार्तिक मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की द्वितीय तिथि को भाई दूज का पर्व मनाया जाता है. इस दिन भाई अपनी बहन के घर जाते हैं और उसे उपहार स्वरूप कुछ वस्तुएं भेंट करते हैं. बदले में बहनें अपने भाई का स्वागत करती हैं और उनको भोजन करवा कर तिलक सत्कार करती हैं. पौराणिक मान्यताओं के अनुसार, ऐसा करने से अकाल मृत्यु का भय समाप्त हो जाता है और दीर्घायु का वरदान प्राप्त होता है. पर ऐसे में आप किस दिशा में बैठ कर अपने भाई को तिलक कर सकते है चलिए जानते है

Every year the festival of Bhai Dooj is celebrated on the second date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. On this day, brothers go to their sister's house and gift her some things. In return, sisters welcome their brothers and offer them food and give them Tilak. According to mythological beliefs, by doing this the fear of untimely death is eliminated and one gets the blessing of longevity.
