00:03 - All right, Dottie, the floor is yours.
00:07 - And look, tomorrow we'll start on the football game here,
00:11 which is saying this,
00:11 "One team might not have a head coach,
00:13 the other has James Franklin."
00:14 It's a big football game,
00:15 do you take the team with no head coach
00:16 because James Franklin doesn't win those games?
00:18 Well, let's remove that from the equation here.
00:20 You know what I mean?
00:21 We'll take a shot at Penn State before now,
00:22 we jump on Michigan at the same time.
00:24 The fact of the matter is like,
00:25 like growing up, like you usually taught morals, right?
00:28 Hey, go to school, don't cheat, try to be a good human being,
00:30 you know, play to get ahead,
00:32 but don't like step on anybody to get over there.
00:34 The gloves are off in college football now
00:36 because the precedent is going to be set in this equation.
00:40 Michigan has done something against the Big Ten,
00:43 it's own schools here to try to get ahead.
00:45 It's stealing signals.
00:47 If you say everybody steals signals, that's fine.
00:49 But if it's written down saying,
00:51 "You can't steal signals, Ben."
00:52 I use the most simplistic terms
00:54 because most people sometimes don't understand
00:56 what the stealing signals entangle.
00:58 Why can't you go to a game and do that?
00:59 Forget about it.
01:00 I right now am sitting here on the Sports Grid Network.
01:03 If upper management told me,
01:04 "Donnie, you can't wear a red T-shirt
01:07 or you will be fired or let go."
01:09 I wear a red T-shirt and go like,
01:10 "Well, it's an off shade of red
01:12 and I didn't really know it'd be this devastating."
01:14 The point of the fact of the matter is,
01:16 you know you can't do it, you still did it,
01:18 and you got caught red handed.
01:19 And then you're trying to act like,
01:20 "Well, Ben wore a red shirt yesterday."
01:22 That's not the point here for Michigan.
01:24 It's not the point for the Big Ten.
01:26 So if we're looking at a coach
01:28 that's already been suspended three games here
01:30 with Michigan self-imposed in that thing,
01:32 "Jim, you lied about an investigation.
01:35 You're probably lucky we didn't fire you."
01:36 Only to have weeks later,
01:38 him looking at another three game suspension
01:40 for a massive scandal.
01:42 But you know what Michigan's actually doing?
01:44 You know what?
01:45 We already have the framework together
01:46 for a monster contract extension with a huge rage.
01:50 Nobody cares.
01:51 And I don't even blame the Big Ten commissioner
01:54 who looks at this situation, Ben,
01:55 and says to himself,
01:56 "You know what?
01:57 Like, but the rest of the teams are yelling at me.
02:00 You have to do something.
02:01 This isn't fair.
02:02 You can't just let Michigan skate."
02:04 And then he checks his bank account here and goes,
02:06 "Oh, the Big Ten's looking pretty good here.
02:08 If I remove them from the playoff equation,
02:10 that's really going to hurt the Big Ten itself here."
02:13 So you're at a crossroads.
02:14 I can't fault the Big Ten commissioner for not acting
02:17 because technically in the best interest of the Big Ten,
02:19 it's about the almighty dollar and that makes sense.
02:22 But if we're setting the precedent
02:23 that you can run wild and cheat at every single turn
02:27 and break every single rule,
02:29 and the worst thing is going to be not your football team,
02:32 not your institution,
02:33 but your coach just can't be on the sidelines
02:36 for a few games here,
02:37 watch out college football.
02:38 If you thought the Wild West here was actually the NIL
02:42 and the moving and the changing
02:43 where guys can change teams here,
02:45 nonsense here.
02:46 The Wild West is just beginning
02:48 where coach is now going like,
02:49 "What's more important here?
02:51 Me getting big contracts, our university winning,
02:53 and me missing a football game or two?"
02:55 Watch out.
