Anganwadi Workers Seek Better Working Conditions Amid Chhattisgarh Polls
  • 6 months ago
Sukara Sinha, a resident of Palnar village in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, has been an Anganwadi worker in Bastar for nearly 16 years. She voted on November 7 in the first phase of polling and hopes that the government will listen to the voters.

Sinha talked to Outlook’s Rakhi Bose about some of the major concerns and demands of these frontline workers: "We want roads with streetlights because we have to walk long distances to cover various villages. We want rooms for Anganwadi workers in the villages that they are posted in. We want running water supply and electricity".
