General Motors Commits Nearly $2 Billion to Electric Vehicle Production in New UAW Agreement
  • 6 months ago
The United Auto Workers union recently reached a tentative contract agreement with General Motors that will see GM invest almost $2 billion into electric vehicle production over the course of the contract. Along with these targeted EV investments, GM plans over $11 billion total in manufacturing investments covered by the UAW agreement. UAW President Shawn Fain believes workers "wrenched back so much" in negotiations, improving wages and conditions overall. The tentative agreements still need to be ratified by UAW membership votes in the coming weeks.
