A man from Drumchapel who has been described as a serial abuser has been sentenced to 50 months in jail for waterboarding his partner.

Scott O’Sullivan tried to drown the woman by putting a towel over her face and pouring water into it as she watched TV.

This incident was part of a six-year campaign of abuse

Next up, Killermont Road in the city centre is to be closed for five days from 1 November to all traffic except buses due to carriageway resurfacing.

Drivers have been advised to avoid the area while diversions will be in place.

The affected area is between West Nile Street and North Hanover Street.

And in other news, the popular English band Echo and the Bunnymen have announced a show at the city’s Barrowland Ballroom next year.

The gig will be taking place on 20 March while tickets are set to go on sale on 3 November at 10am.
