Chinese Ambassador Meets with Caretaker Energy Minister to Discuss Collaboration

The Ambassador of China to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, had a meeting with Caretaker Federal Minister for Energy, Muhammad Ali, on Tuesday. During their discussion, the Minister expressed his gratitude for China's continued involvement in Pakistan's energy sector.

He also extended congratulations for the success of the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held in China recently. Ambassador Jiang highlighted the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as a driving force for global development, fostering collaboration opportunities between industries in both nations.

The Ambassador welcomed the Energy Minister's proposal to arrange a delegation of private companies for engagement with Chinese enterprises, promoting cooperation between the two countries.

The Minister emphasized Pakistan's focus on native and renewable energy sources for its future energy landscape. He identified renewables, transmission networks, and distribution companies (DISCOs) as crucial areas for potential collaboration with China. Additionally, he discussed the potential of utilizing advanced technology from Chinese corporations to enhance the Coal Gasification plant in Thar, which would enhance energy supply to industries."
