A wild elephant took a stroll through a train station after becoming separated from its herd.

After calmly plodding through Parvathipuram station in southern India's Andhra Pradesh, the animal was also seen walking along an empty street at night.

Local villagers have been warned to look out for the nelly, and more railway patrols have been scheduled after the sighting on October 29.

A local source said: "What's interesting was that it didn't cause any harm to anything around it as it walked around in the area."
