Culinary Union Rally on Las Vegas Strip Demands Fair Contracts from Casino Giants
  • 6 months ago
The Culinary Union of Nevada, the most powerful union in the state, organized a rally on the Las Vegas Strip on Wednesday evening to protest stalled contract negotiations with MGM Resorts International, Caesars Entertainment, and Wynn Resorts - known collectively as the "Big Three" casino companies. Police began making arrests of protesters after the protestors disrupted traffic on the Las Vegas Strip. Over 40,000 Culinary Union workers have been working under an expired contract since September 15th. In late September, union members voted 95% in favor of authorizing a potential city-wide strike.
