Cyclone damage reported in northern Vanuatu, system downgraded
  • 6 months ago
Remote villages in northern Vanuatu have been damaged and crops destroyed, as tropical Cyclone Lola continues to batter the island nation. The cyclone has been downgraded to a category two as it passes to the west of the capital Port Vila. It's the first pre-season cyclone to hit the region since the 1970s. Lindah Peter from CARE International says recovery from the cyclone will be challenging.
