Ateneo clinches first back-to-back win

The defending champs Ateneo Blue Eagles finally notched their first back-to-back wins courtesy of a 99-89 overtime victory over the UP Fighting Maroons in the UAAP Season 86 men's basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday, October 22.

Blue Eagles head coach Tab Baldwin said that their win doesn't mean anything if they can't follow it up with another one, or finally sustain their winning ways after a rather up-and-down first round campaign.

Ateneo finished the first round in third place with a 4-3 slate while UP stayed atop the team standings with a 6-1 slate.
