Alec Baldwin Faces New Involuntary Manslaughter Charge in Fatal Movie Set Shooting
  • 6 months ago
Prosecutors in New Mexico plan to charge actor Alec Baldwin with involuntary manslaughter for the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the movie set of "Rust" in 2021. This comes after forensic testing found Baldwin had to have pulled the trigger of the revolver he was rehearsing with for it to fire the live round that killed Hutchins. Prosecutors dismissing the earlier charges against Baldwin after evidence the gun may have been modified, but are now recharging him based on new findings about the gun's functionality. A grand jury will be convened in mid-November to consider the charges against Baldwin.
