Pastor Sandoval Silva's Fatal Crash @ Chulucanas 2010

A car driven by Raúl "Mono" Orlandini left the road just a few meters from to the end of the a special stage of the rally, and hit two spectators. The accident occurred on 02 May 2010 in Chulucanas, near Piura, during the 60th edition of the Premio Presidente de la República in Peru.

The accident occurred on the final special stage of the second day of the event, Orlandini was leading the race at the end of the first day. He lost control of his car as he was approaching the stadium of Chulucanas, in Morropón province, northern Peru, where the end of the stage was placed.

One of the two spectators, named Pastor Sandoval Silva, who suffered severe leg injuries, died before arrival to Piura hospital. The other injured man, José Elías Yarlequé Rondoy, survived the crash.

Pastor Sandoval Silva was a lemon and mango trader in Chulucanas, he left behind four children.
