Four Danish royals have been stripped of their titles by Queen Margrethe “for their own good”. The four grandchildren of the monarch have said they are “sad, shocked and confused” over the move. On Thursday, Queen Margrethe slimmed down the Danish monarchy by stripping four of her eight grandchildren of their royal titles. A statement from the royal palace said: “As of January 1 2023, the descendants of His Royal Highness Prince Joachim will only be able to use their titles of Count and Countess of Monpezat, their previous titles of Prince and Princess of Denmark ceasing to exist.” Joachim, 53, has four children from two marriages who have lost their titles, those being Nikolai, Felix, Henr ...
