eActros Offering a Range of 311 Miles was Introduced, New Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 EV 2025

Mercedes' all-electric long hauler has three battery packs providing a total capacity of 621 kWh

Mercedes-Benz Trucks has taken the covers off its new eActros 600, a long-distance electric semi-vehicle that aims to set “a new standard in road freight transport”.

Slated to go into production late next year, the eActros 600 features a "pure design" that embraces smooth curves and aerodynamic styling. Speaking of the latter, there are underbody panels in the half and air deflectors on the A-pillars. These are accompanied by matrix LED headlights and a purpose-built cabin that has been extended by 3.1 inches (80 mm) for better aerodynamics.

The semi has a payload capacity of approximately 22 tonnes and is powered by three lithium iron phosphate batteries providing a total capacity of 621 kWh. This configuration promises a range of 500 km (311 mi), and Mercedes notes that about 60 percent of its customers' long-distance trips are shorter than this distance. As a result, as long as there is charging infrastructure at loading and unloading points, customers should not experience range anxiety.

For companies that need to go further afield, Mercedes said the eActros 600 can "cover significantly more than 1,000 km (621 miles) per day." Specifically, drivers can charge half while taking their legally prescribed breaks.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks has designed the eActros 600 to have the same durability as a conventional heavy-duty long-distance Actros, meaning that the model will have no problems covering up to 1.2 million km (745,645 miles) in ten years of operation means. The company added that even after that time, "the battery health status should still be above 80 percent."

The batteries power a new 800-volt electric axle with two electric motors. They consistently produce a power output of 536 hp (400 kW / 544 PS) and a peak power of 805 hp (600 kW / 816 PS). The latter output "is available most of the time with virtually no interruption in torque."

The eActros 600 has a charging capacity of up to 400 kW, but the company plans to eventually offer megawatt charging. When the model is launched, it will be able to charge 20-80% in approximately 30 minutes.

While Mercedes stated that the model would have a "purchase price approximately two to two and a half times higher than its diesel counterpart", it said that in certain markets the eActros 600 could be more profitable in the long term. The exact distribution depends on a variety of factors, including incentives and energy prices, but the company noted that benefits could kick in "within the average vehicle retention period of approximately five years, or after approximately 600,000 km (372,823 miles)."
