00:01 You assume we don't know how to have a good time?
00:04 I-I just...
00:05 I-I just...
00:07 What is that?
00:08 Welcome to WatchMojo,
00:10 and today we're counting down our picks for the top 10 underrated raunchy comedies.
00:14 - I quit! - ( screaming )
00:16 - ( grunting ) - ( screaming )
00:18 For this list, we'll be ranking suggestive, laugh-out-loud movies
00:22 that we feel either deserve to be celebrated more
00:24 or rewatched to remember just how funny they were in the first place.
00:27 What's your favorite raunchy comedy?
00:29 Let us know in the comments.
00:31 Number 10, "Private Resort."
00:34 They say that everyone needs to start somewhere,
00:36 and for actors, that somewhere is often the world
00:39 of B-grade movies in the horror and comedy realm.
00:42 Johnny Depp is absolutely one of those now A-list celebrities
00:45 who spend his time working in these types of films.
00:48 Are you always this forward with strangers?
00:51 Only with beautiful women.
00:53 "Private Resort" was the sort of VHS staple from the 1980s
00:57 that was sold on the premise of wacky hijinks and gratuitous nudity.
01:01 - ( crashing ) - ( screaming )
01:04 Depp, who made his first movie debut in "A Nightmare on Elm Street"
01:08 just the year before, gets star billing for the first time.
01:11 "Private Resort" delivers all of the raunchy content you'd expect
01:14 from a film called, well, "Private Resort."
01:17 My grandmother's probably home by now.
01:19 She can take care of herself.
01:21 Number nine, "The Overnight."
01:26 What goes into the creation of a truly raunchy comedy?
01:29 Well, explicit content and zany hijinks are key ingredients.
01:32 "The Overnight" certainly delivers on both counts,
01:35 particularly during its closing, ahem, climax.
01:38 - Hey, group hug. - Thank you.
01:39 - Yes. - Oh, okay.
01:42 The film focuses on a couple, Alex and Emily,
01:45 who are new to L.A. and keen to make friends.
01:47 They meet another couple and bring their kids together for a playdate.
01:50 It's so good, you know what it makes me think about?
01:52 - What? - ( spitting )
01:54 However, the other couple happens to be swingers,
01:57 and this crazy night quickly goes off the rails
01:59 in an orgy of unexpected and very adult comedy.
02:02 - Oh, there they are. - Oh, hey, honey.
02:05 Number eight, "Kingpin."
02:07 The Farrelly brothers enjoy a proven track record
02:10 when it comes to delivering some truly outrageous comedy.
02:12 "Kingpin" arrived right smack dab
02:14 in what could be considered an apex of the siblings' creative success,
02:17 the mid-'90s.
02:18 Listen, you stupid banana head, you don't have to bet.
02:21 I'll bet for you.
02:22 - Yeah. - Oh, that's cool.
02:24 The film, which stars Woody Harrelson,
02:26 Randy Quaid, Bill Murray, and Vanessa Angel,
02:29 is a sports movie of sorts, albeit in the raunchiest way possible.
02:32 It's the world of professional bowling that gets the spotlight here,
02:35 a down and dirty world that feels like miles away
02:38 from the polished athletics of football or basketball.
02:41 ( cheering )
02:44 Yes, son of a--
02:46 There's tons of sexual sight gags and poor behavior to be found,
02:49 as well as plenty of genuine laughs,
02:51 making "Kingpin" a strong recommendation
02:53 for your next raunchy retro movie night.
02:55 - ( sighs ) - What's the matter?
02:58 Nothing.
03:00 Number seven, "Zack and Miri Make a Porno."
03:03 Do raunchy comedies need to be raunchy all the time?
03:05 We don't think so,
03:07 especially when they're as fun as "Zack and Miri Make a Porno."
03:09 The film, alternatively known as "Zack and Miri,"
03:12 details the exploits of friends who are struggling financially
03:14 and need to find some quick cash.
03:16 If it's so easy, how come everybody doesn't do it?
03:18 Because other people have options and dignity,
03:21 which we do not have, which puts us
03:23 in an amazingly advantageous position.
03:25 They decide to make a ramshackle adult film,
03:27 but end up falling in love with the process.
03:29 "Zack and Miri" didn't do well critically or financially
03:32 during its initial run in theaters, and we honestly don't know why.
03:35 This is the worst porno I've ever seen.
03:38 The film was written and directed by Kevin Smith,
03:40 with his usual wit and heart,
03:42 and deserves some raunchy comedy reappraisal.
03:44 So as you can see, our movie ain't got no ending.
03:47 Every movie needs an ending, don't it?
03:50 There are a myriad of different plot devices
03:56 that can set the wheels of an average raunchy comedy in motion.
03:59 The "Let's Save the Rec Center" is an all-time classic,
04:02 as is the idea of a white-tea car crash.
04:05 Perhaps chief among those plot tricks
04:07 is the good old-fashioned road trip.
04:09 Let's go, ladies!
04:11 Lance, cut it out! Come on!
04:13 A lot of things can happen while on a long drive,
04:15 and 2008's "Sex Drive" ensures
04:17 that there's no shortage of outrageous situations on the open road.
04:21 What have you got?
04:23 There's a hot pursuit, angry state troopers,
04:26 and a whole lot of shenanigans to be had behind the wheel.
04:29 Oh, and tons of laughs, too.
04:31 Laughs, sir.
04:33 Works for me.
04:35 Is the OG "Meatballs" from 1979
04:39 the raunchiest film in this franchise?
04:41 No, that would be its bonkers second sequel,
04:44 "Meatballs 3, Summer Job."
04:46 However, it all started here
04:48 with what's still the highest-grossing Canadian film of all time.
04:51 Yep, it turns out that a lot of moviegoers
04:57 wanted to see what really happens at Camp North Star.
05:00 Not that we can blame them,
05:02 especially when Bill Murray is in charge of the camp counselors.
05:05 All right, gentlemen, big event.
05:07 Operation late-night excitement.
05:09 "Meatballs" balances out a smart and funny script
05:12 with just enough heart to keep the film from feeling too sleazy.
05:15 Maybe somehow, director Ivan Reitman already knew
05:18 that "Meatballs 3" would end up covering all those bases only a few years later.
05:22 Like "Meatballs," stoner comedy "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle"
05:35 was also successful enough to muster up a franchise,
05:38 earning sequels in 2008 and 2011.
05:40 "Mochi Harold and Kumar" is a comedy of errors
05:43 as these two friends take on an otherwise innocuous mission for fast food.
05:46 While it isn't the raunchiest film on our list,
05:55 the scene involving Freak Show and his wife
05:57 certainly goes to unexpected places.
05:59 By the end of their mission, the duo has a story that,
06:07 if it were real, would never be believed by your friends,
06:10 or our friends, or anyone for that matter.
06:12 Well, except maybe Neil Patrick Harris.
06:14 Did you ever wonder what sort of movie
06:26 "Wet Hot American Summer" was parodying back in 2001?
06:28 Well, then, you need to go back and watch 1980's "Little Darlings."
06:32 It's Randy.
06:34 Don't let the name fool you.
06:37 Its plot of two teenagers racing to see which can lose their virginity first
06:42 is actually handled with, to quote film critic Roger Ebert,
06:45 "some of the dignity it deserves."
06:47 I don't know what's with them. They never come prepared.
06:49 They think it's the woman's responsibility or something.
06:51 The film was yet another omnipresent title on VHS
06:54 before falling into obscurity thanks to musical rights
06:56 associated with its hit soundtrack.
06:58 Seriously, "Little Darlings" is funny, raunchy, and memorable,
07:02 with great music.
07:04 It all started here for the Zucker Brothers,
07:13 who would find mainstream success with the "Airplane" and "Naked Gun" film series.
07:17 The "Kentucky Fried" movie is the gold standard
07:19 for that brief cinematic trend in the '70s
07:21 of developing sketch comedy movies.
07:23 Show me your nuts.
07:25 Oh, I hit one.
07:28 This transgressive and anarchic comedy
07:30 takes potshots at everyone and everything.
07:32 There's one long-form narrative sketch
07:34 that parodies Bruce Lee's "Enter the Dragon,"
07:36 but elsewhere, it's "Anything Goes."
07:38 Parodies of commercials? Check.
07:45 Running gags? Double check.
07:46 Director John Landis ensured
07:48 that a "Kentucky Fried" movie was packed with as much silliness
07:51 and gratuitousness as humanly possible.
07:53 You've been warned.
07:54 Come back to Montana with me.
07:56 I get no sooner run away from her than myself.
07:58 I'm not asking you to run. I'm asking you to face reality.

08:18 Number 1, "The Last American Virgin."
08:21 Ask anyone who's seen "The Last American Virgin,"
08:23 and they'll immediately mention one thing--
08:25 that ending.
08:26 This film, from director Bose Davidson,
08:28 was a remake of a film Davidson directed in his native Israel,
08:31 and it's truly one of a kind.
08:33 Do you have a boyfriend?
08:35 No.
08:37 For starters, it has a soundtrack to die for,
08:39 including tracks from "Journey," "Devo," "The Cars," and "The Police."
08:43 Additionally, the well-worn plot of "Losing It"
08:46 takes on a whole new meaning,
08:47 with some real moral stakes at risk for the characters.
08:50 Tom.
08:51 This has got nothing to do with you.
08:55 There's a lot of sex and nudity, sure,
08:57 but also consequences for the actions of the protagonists.
09:00 Then there's the ending, which we won't spoil here.
09:02 We'll just say one thing--
09:04 you'll never see it coming.
