00:00 Sometimes it's tiring being a woman in this world,
00:03 especially under a Tory government.
00:08 But that is why it falls upon us to continue the work
00:12 of the last Labour government, standing side by side
00:16 so that all of us succeed in battling inequality together.
00:21 Labour is the party of equality, of the Equality Act,
00:26 of equal pay, and of Sure Start.
00:29 I'm proud to say that in the Labour Party today,
00:33 we have more women MPs than men.
00:35 And with Rachel's eyes fixed on being the first woman
00:46 chancellor, we're turning the tide of history.
00:50 But conference, the battle isn't won.
00:55 There still aren't enough women around the table.
00:59 It's not enough for us to cling onto our seats
01:02 and celebrate the fight it took us to get there.
01:05 Conference, when it comes to building a better future
01:07 for women, we won't just talk the talk.
01:10 We'll walk the walk.
01:12 Because our lives, our careers, our futures depend on it.
01:18 We can't continue down the path that we're on.
01:21 Women, unsafe on Britain's streets,
01:25 two-thirds of us harassed in our workplace.
01:28 We must get into government and build on the legacy
01:32 of the last Labour government.
01:34 We must get into government and continue
01:37 the fight for equality.
01:40 And conference, Labour must get into government
01:44 to give that young girl living in poverty her future back.
