Nathan Merritt in life threatening incident as fans rally around Rabbitohs great

Rabbitohs great Nathan Merritt is fighting for his life in hospital after collapsing on Friday when visiting a family member. The Daily Telegraph first reported Merritt collapsed when saying at his aunty's house on Friday, which saw him rushed to hospital.The former NRL winger is in serious condition on life support as he fights for his life. The 40-year-old played 200 games for the Rabbitohs and scored 146 tries for the club. Merritt was one of the best wingers in the game having topped the try scoring charts on three occasions across his career in the NRL. The winger became just the ninth player in history to score more than 150 tries and earned a number of representative call-ups. Merritt featured and scored two tries for the Indigenous All Stars team and played one State of Origin game for New South Wales in 2013IMPORTANT!
