A perfect weather storm, including a few shower, light winter and hot spring temperatures, caused flies out of the cocoons early and city insect. Canberra Entomologists and Flies' eyes, writer Dr Bryan Lessard, said that the abundance of nectar and the increase of sweaty people provides a buffet for flies.
