Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham has hit out at the debate over the future of the HS2 rail project.

Burnham said he believes the people in the North are once again being treated like 'second class citizens' when it comes to transport and has urged ministers to talk to leaders before scrapping the project.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Chancellor Jeremy Hunt are set to decide the fate of the northern leg of HS2 later this week, with an announcement pencilled in on friday.

We spoke to people in Manchester to find out what they think about current rail services and the potential plans to scrap HS2 in the north.
