The Host (2013) movie review

The Host is a 2013 science fiction romance film directed by Andrew Niccol and starring Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons, and Jake Abel. It is based on the 2008 novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer.

The film is set in a post-apocalyptic world where an alien race has invaded Earth and taken over the bodies of humans, erasing their memories and identities. Melanie Stryder (Ronan) is one of the few humans who have not been "souled" by the aliens. She is captured and implanted with an alien soul named Wanderer, but she is able to retain her own consciousness.

Wanderer is initially determined to complete her mission and assimilate Melanie's memories, but she eventually comes to care for Melanie and her loved ones. Melanie and Wanderer work together to escape from the aliens and find a safe place for Melanie's family and friends.
