Will the Allies stay Allies?
When World War II ended, the Allies–USA, UK, France, the USSR, and friends–settled in for a little victory party. When they did so, they agreed to split Germany into separate zones of occupation. Berlin, too, was split, even though it was technically in the Soviet zone.
Various agreements dictated how each country should and shouldn’t operate their zones, but… Of course, as the Cold War kicked in, and the Western allies were inclined to work together, things quickly began to deteriorate.
When USA, UK, and France decided to operate a unified currency in their zones, the Soviets took offense, and things went downhill from there…
