Ford CEO Fires Back at UAW President's Criticism Ahead of Strike Deadline
  • 7 months ago
Ford CEO Jim Farley fired back at comments made by United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain, criticizing Ford for not taking bargaining negotiations seriously ahead of a Thursday night strike deadline. Farley said Ford has made four economic proposals to the UAW, including its most recent offer which Ford calls its most generous ever, but has received "no genuine counteroffer" from the UAW. Fain is simultaneously negotiating separate contracts with Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis ahead of the Thursday deadline. He was absent from an important meeting between Ford leadership and the UAW that Ford Chair Bill Ford and Farley had expected Fain to attend.
