Anwar tables 12MP mid-term review, reveals extra RM15bil allocation

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has tabled the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) Mid-Term Review in the Dewan Rakyat here on Monday (Sept 11).   While tabling the motion, Anwar said a total of RM400bil was allocated for the 12th MP.  However, Anwar said a further RM15bil will be added, bringing the total allocation for the government’s five-year development plan to RM415bil. 00:00 [President of the Parliament] "Mr. Speaker, the current status of RMK-12, which was passed in Parliament on 21 October 2021, which includes three themes, four basic factors, and 14 changes.

00:19 The GDP has shown a negative 5.5% in 2020, but it has started to recover by recording a growth of 33% in 2021.

00:34 In the first two years of RMK-12, which is 2021 to 2022, the country recorded a growth of 59% from a very low previous base.

00:51 As much as 31% of the 175 targets set have been achieved and 59% are in accordance with the schedule.

01:05 RMK-12 has allocated Rp 400 billion to finance a new and sustainable development project for five years.

01:16 For the first two years, the actual spending performance is 34%.

01:23 In 2021, the total spending on development was only Rp 64.3 billion.

01:31 In 2022, the total amount is Rp 71.6 billion.

01:38 RMK-12 will be re-aligned with the vision of the economy of the body, which aims to strengthen and strengthen the country's economy for a period of 10 years.

01:50 The government is committed to spending at least Rp 90 billion a year for 2023 to 2025.

02:01 This means that the government will spend Rp 400 billion under RMK-12,

02:08 even adding a ceiling of Rp 15 billion to make the total amount of Rp 415 billion.

02:19 This increase is to add the need to finance the people's main sector,

02:25 as well as improving the needs of management and re-subsidizing to meet the needs of the people's main sector.

02:34 The new program starts by eliminating poverty,

02:38 solving the basic food and basic needs of the people,

02:43 including improving schools and clinics,

02:46 ensuring clean water supply, and improving the Islamic economy.

02:52 In the field of eliminating poverty, God willing, we will succeed in achieving success before the end of this year.

03:01 Meanwhile, the RMK-12 KSP will re-establish the strategy and target in full

03:09 by taking into account the shortcomings of urban development, villages, and deepening,

03:14 as well as the existing poverty, the inflationary debt, the stagnant fiscal space,

03:22 and the slow change of economic structure.
