Mexican women adopt male roles ahead of female-led election

"Before, it was for men" : plumber Berenice Aparicio is among a wave of women in Mexico taking on male roles in a country trying to shake off what some see as a traditional machismo. Two of the presidential candidates in next year's election are women and one of them is likely to become the country's first female president. Sexism is still a common experience for many women, despite positive steps like the recent decriminalization of abortion. "It's like during Pride month" says Mallory Knox, a carpenter who isn't totally sold on Mexico's seeming feminist direction.
