00:00 The 23rd annual 2017 SAG Awards took over our feeds last night with tons of our
00:05 favorite Hollywood stars taking to the carpet and stage for acceptance speeches
00:09 with a common theme. I think it's safe to say that Hollywood's a little bit
00:13 upset about Trump's immigration ban. The night appeared to be more of an
00:16 opportunity to stand up to the current US administration than an award show. The
00:20 hashtag SAG Award, Muslim ban, and no Muslim ban all seem to be trending side
00:25 by side. Actor Ashton Kutcher opened up the ceremony with a powerful statement.
00:28 "And everyone in airports that belong in my America." Sarah Paulson encouraged
00:36 donations to the ACLU. "Any money they have to spare please donate to the ACLU."
00:41 Here's Julia Louis-Dreyfus who won Best Actress for a Comedy Series in Beep. "And
00:46 this immigrant ban is a blemish and it is un-American." John Lithgow threw some
00:51 Trump jabs and even included Meryl Streep. "A great and underrated actress
00:55 who somehow managed to speak my exact thoughts and that's Meryl Streep."
01:02 Moonlight star Mershala Ali delivered one of the most inspiring speeches of
01:07 the night. "When we kind of get caught up in the minutiae, the details that make us
01:11 all different, I think there's two ways of seeing that. There's an opportunity to
01:14 see the texture of that person, the characteristics that make them unique.
01:18 And then there's an opportunity to go to war about it. And to say that
01:21 person is different from me. And I don't like you, so let's battle." And finally, a
01:26 huge thank you goes to Wynoda Ryder, whose facial expressions given during an
01:30 acceptance speech by her Stranger Things co-star David Harbour for Best Ensemble
01:35 Drama not only made for some much-needed comedy, but gave us maybe enough memes to
01:40 last at least the rest of today. What do you think of Hollywood speaking out? For
