On Wednesday, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as Pakistan Taliban, launched a massive military offensive in the Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. As per reports, the TTP overran several villages in the area. Several Pakistani security personnel have also been JKilled. The Khorasan Diary, which claims to be a non-partisan news platform, said that it has spoken with a key TTP commander over the telephone. The TTP commander reportedly said that an operation in Chitral district has been launched by the TTP and various villages have been captured.
