US takes 'step in right direction' in win over Italy

Austin Reaves said Team USA's 100-63 quarterfinal demolition of Italy at the Mall of Asia Arena on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023 in the FIBA Basketball World Cup was a step in the right direction. Following their 104-110 loss to Lithuania last Sunday, Reaves said the Americans made it a point to come out swinging from the start against Italy. Team USA advanced to the semifinals of the World Cup, eclipsing its quarter final finish in the 2019 edition of the world meet in China.
