The Melbourne Cup visits Canberra

For the first time in more than a decade, the Melbourne Cup is visiting the general populace of Canberra, letting the average person to lay a (gloved) hand on the fabled trophy, made from 18-carat gold and valued at $600,000. And, yes, it has a security guard.
