Those two election workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, "became the subject of conspiracy theories" surrounding the election, Politico reports. .
Freeman and Moss were ultimately harassed by people who believed the conspiracy theories.
On Aug. 30, U.S. District Court Judge Beryl Howell ruled that Giuliani is liable for defaming Freeman and Moss.
Giuliani reportedly violated Judge Howell's orders to provide discovery to the plaintiffs, which resulted in a "default" judgement against the 79-year-old.
He must pay "punitive" damages
to the two election workers. .
