A street gang called the "Wild 100s" in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, allegedly stole millions of dollars in Covid unemployment benefits through fraudulent claims filed in multiple states, including California. The leader of the gang and another member have been charged in connection with a murder-for-hire scheme that led to the killing of an individual. Prosecutors allege the stolen COVID relief funds were used by gang members to pay for the murder and purchase firearms, including machine guns, drugs, clothing, jewelry, and vacations.
