00:00 Initially, this was my workshop.
00:01 I worked here for six years as a fabricator.
00:03 I wanted to change it over,
00:04 so we took all the machinery out,
00:05 but I've upcycled anything I had.
00:06 So for example, I've got a bit of bench there,
00:08 that my old work bench.
00:09 We've made a lot of the stuff in here,
00:11 the kitchen, we made all the kitchen from start to finish.
00:13 So I wanted to utilize what things we had around,
00:15 and also what people were giving away.
00:16 I find a lot of people give a lot of stuff away,
00:17 which got a lot of life into them.
00:18 So we've upcycled a lot of stuff.
00:21 And this is the space we've got now.
00:22 It makes, I think, a nice creative space,
00:24 and it makes it a little bit unusual,
00:26 and a bit retro-y,
00:27 and just gives it a nice different feel
00:29 from the usual clinical, commercial,
00:31 they say I would do it, I would do it.
00:32 I've just done it a little bit wild.
00:34 We've had a big welcome response from people at Paddyham.
00:36 They've all bought into the idea.
00:38 They're all enjoying my coffee.
00:40 Will do, it's the best coffee you're gonna get.
00:41 They're all enjoying my food.
00:43 Most of them, they enjoy the environment.
00:44 It's a nice place to be in.
00:45 It's a warm place to be in,
00:46 and everybody feels nice and calm and relaxed
00:48 when they're here.
00:49 So I find people coming down,
00:50 chit-chat for a while,
00:51 and then coming back down again.
00:53 So, so far, really good.
00:54 I'm well impressed.
00:55 I've saved this.
00:56 This is a Fiat X19 Bertone.
00:58 Next door, we're gonna scrap it,
00:59 Paddyham Pickers.
01:00 We're gonna scrap it.
01:01 So what I've done is I saved it,
01:04 600 pound, and eventually I'm gonna get it working,
01:06 'cause we're not gonna see another one of these.
01:07 1979, and it's got a tax disc in it.
01:09 No one sees tax discs anymore.
01:11 So that's another thing.
01:12 It gives it something to look at.
01:14 And also, people, old guys like me,
01:15 reminiscing, we're going around going,
01:17 I've never seen these,
01:18 or my dad had one of these,
01:19 my mate had one of these.
01:20 I get a lot of that as well.
01:21 And also, with a tax disc,
01:22 and kids can have a look at it then,
01:23 and have a little bit of something about history,
01:25 and also a bit of connection between adults and kids.
01:27 We've got a lot of space here,
01:28 and it's a nice space,
01:29 and I want to try and give it out to everybody.
01:30 The space is paid for, no matter what.
01:32 So what I'm trying to get is people down
01:33 in the local community to use it.
01:35 So I've got local artists come down
01:36 and show their wares off.
01:37 So we've got some bits of pictures there.
01:39 I'm up for more artists coming down.
01:40 They've got wall space,
01:41 if they want wall space.
01:42 Anybody who's lonely and wants to come down for a chat,
01:44 come down for a chat.
01:45 If there's any big groups of people,
01:46 for example, we've got some VW camper guys coming down,
01:50 we can accommodate for that.
01:51 I just want it to be a space
01:53 where everybody can bob in to,
01:54 get a brew, have a chat,
01:55 and get a group of people together, have a chat,
01:57 have a private event,
01:58 we've got a private event,
01:59 just a place for people to use.
02:00 We're off a bit in tracks,
02:01 it's a bit quieter.
02:02 It's a bit, there's no road noise outside,
02:04 there's no cars or anything.
02:05 So I feel like it's a good space
02:06 for a lot of different things,
02:08 and I'm open for most options.
02:10 I just want it to be used,
02:11 to be loved and appreciated,
02:13 and I want it to be here for as long
02:14 as I can be here for it as well.
