The FDA's independent experts have delivered a stark verdict on the effectiveness of Medtronic's new blood pressure treatment device. The panel voted against recommending approval of the device due to concerns over its efficacy while voting in favor of a rival device made by ReCor. In clinical trials, Medtronic's device was found to lower blood pressure but not as effectively as that of Otsuka Holdings.
