One in three not meeting numeracy and literacy expectations

One in 3 school students is failing to meet minimum literacy and numeracy standards across Australia and one in 10 are so far behind they need additional help. That's the headline finding from the latest national assessment program for literacy and numeracy known as NAPLAN. The test has been re-vamped with tougher assessment criteria.
