Parts of Australia put on high alert for fires this coming Spring

A worrying combination of increased vegetation combined with warm dry weather has prompted emergency authorities to put large swathes of the country on high alert for bushfires this spring. The Australasian Fire Authorities Council says while fire is a regular part of the Australian landscape, the climate influences driving increased risk of bushfire this spring are widespread.
